About Esther
Her story is one of heritage and reinvention. Painting was woven into Esther van Helmont’s life from the very beginning. Her grandfather was a painter of realism and romanticism, whose studio was filled with lessons in patience, light, and craft. Her mother carried on that tradition for years, while her younger sister transformed it into the language of tattoo art.
For Esther, the canvas became her own way of honouring this lineage — evolving it into large-scale oil paintings that give women space, dignity, and presence.
